Viaterra Claw Mini Tail Bag
The Claw Mini is the compact end of Viaterra's tail bag range - medium capacity, universal fit, and built around a roll-top closure rather than a zip. Available in black or orange, it suits riders who want proper waterproofing and secure mounting without carrying the bulk of a full touring bag.
The waterproofing is specified rather than implied. The inner drybag liner is rated to 5000mm water pressure and seam-sealed on all stitches, and an external raincover is included on top of that. The roll-top opening is the other half of the system - rolled down at least three folds and secured, it seals the main compartment and lets you compress the bag down when you are carrying less.
Mounting uses a universal no-shift system with dual-side strap adjustment, so the bag holds position at highway speeds instead of creeping under braking. Built-in compression straps cinch the load down, and two further compression straps across the top let you carry additional luggage without reaching for bungees.
Two MOLLE webbing straps run along the bag and can be configured modularly - mount a tent or sleeping bag, or add capacity with the POD 12L and POD 22L expanders when a trip needs more than the Mini carries on its own.
Colour is worth a thought. The black hides road film and trail dust and disappears against most bikes; the orange is considerably easier to see in traffic and easier to find at a campsite. Both carry identical specification.

FAQs
Q: What is the difference between black and orange?
Specification only differs in colour. Black hides dust and road film and sits discreetly on any bike; orange is far more visible in traffic and easier to spot at a campsite or in a garage. Choose on visibility preference, not capability.
Q: What does a 5000mm rating actually mean?
It is the water column pressure the liner fabric resists before water penetrates. For riding, it means the liner holds up under sustained rain at speed rather than only light drizzle.
Q: How is the roll-top meant to be closed?
Roll the opening down at least three full folds before securing it. Fewer folds compromises the seal - this is the single most common mistake with roll-top luggage.
Q: Can I add capacity later?
Yes. The two MOLLE webbing straps accept POD 12L and POD 22L expanders, and the top compression straps carry additional luggage directly.
Q: Will it fit my motorcycle?
It is a universal-fit bag with dual-side strap adjustment. Message us with your model if you would like us to confirm before you order.
Local Buying Guide
For Indian conditions the 5000mm liner rating is the number that matters - monsoon riding is sustained heavy rain, and bags rated only for showers will let water through at speed. If you tour longer distances, look at the larger tail bags in the range; for overflow or a dedicated dry compartment see our drybags, and a tank bag keeps documents and phone within reach while riding.
